My Personal Goal as your Therapist:
Empowering you by working to see, hear, and understand you. Helping you feel less isolated in your struggles. Fostering a safer, warm, respectful, affirming therapeutic relationship where you can show up as yourself and be appreciated for who you are.
Areas of Expertise
Sad people, anxious people, smart people, funny people, quirky people, queer people, quiet people, shy people, hurt people, loving people, emotional people,
and people who don't think "people" is spelled like that after reading it ten times.
Individual Therapy
Are you feeling stuck, sad, or anxious? Do you feel like you're not fully understood? Let's work together to explore your inner world and find ways to increase joy in your life. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for creative individuals who may feel clinically quirky or undervalued. Through individual therapy, we can address your unique challenges and work towards healing and growth.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), also evidence-based, was developed from CBT to improve emotion regulation and impulse control related to self-harming behaviours.
I integrate CBT and DBT techniques to help my clients challenge unhelpful beliefs, emotions, develop coping strategies, and achieve positive changes in their lives.
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy involves exploring thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to improve well-being. In our psychotherapy sessions, we will delve into your experiences and emotions, working towards self-discovery, insight, and empowerment. Together, we can navigate challenges and foster personal growth.
About Me:
I'd like to start by reminding you that you matter. I am glad you are here. If you are having a hard time, let's talk about it.
My name is Leah (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at The Compassion Project. I am committed to offering support for individuals who have a hard time feeling safe, heard, or cared for.
Through a compassionate, person-centred approach I'll help you navigate life's challenges. I have a particular interest working with adults managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma.
I strive to work from trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and gender-affirming perspectives. I welcome all clients including those identifying as neurodiverse, queer, trans, and LGBTQ2SIA+. I will be here when you feel ready to talk. On your terms.
Leah :)
